Dr. Heejung Yang
Dr. Heejung Yang graduated from the University of Connecticut with a major in Physiology and Neurobiology and a minor in Statistics. Her hospital and nursing home work experience gave her a new direction to seek prevention of disease rather than just treatment of diseases as a way to help patients. Dr. Yang then went on to the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine and completed a dual degree program in Master’s of Acupuncture (Honours) and Doctorate’s degree in Naturopathic Medicine.
Dr. Yang believes a person’s health is closely tied with the natural environment and a proper balance must be maintained to protect harmony. When balance is disturbed, illness results. This approach is also true for Traditional Chinese medicine and Naturopathic medicine. Her passion is to share knowledge and incorporate the methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern Western understanding of conditions and ailments into her treatment plan.
Creating a safe and non-judgemental environment for her patients are very important to her so she can truly listen and understand their concerns and she enjoys working together as a team to help her patients achieve their long term health goals.
